Buenos Aires, Argentina

Tango Dancers

I’m at the airport and will be boarding soon for my return flight home.

Last night we went to a tango show. It was great fun, if a bit too commercial for my taste.

Today, I spent the day on a tour of Tigre, a neighborhood about fifteen miles from Buenos Aires. The area sits at the confluence of two rivers, the Plata and the Sarmiento. Small tributaries and canals flow from those rivers. It was originally an area of smugglers, then fruit growers and lumber. Now, summer homes and year round residents share the waterways.

The boat tour, through a verdant area, was perfect before my return to winter. We returned to Buenos Aires by minivan, stopping several times in other towns surrounding the city.

I’m liking forward to being home (albeit briefly) and seeing Pookah.
