The prediction was for a gray, chilly day. Fortunately, the forecasters got it wrong. Today has been sunny, though a bit cool. I’ve truly lucked out weatherwise, something to be grateful for in Seattle.
I met an old colleague and friend Charlie, and his wife MJ, for breakfast. We hadn’t spent time together since pre-pandemic, so we had a lot to catch up on. During breakfast I convinced them to get tickets for the afternoon Pacific Northwest Ballet’s performance.
For the remainder of the morning, I meandered through the Chihuly exhibition. It’s a gorgeous display of his work, from his earliest days to the present. The intense colors, sinuous shapes, and overall designs are striking. I especially loved the garden, where glass is intermixed with flowers, plants, and other natural materials. The sun shining through the glass set it all aglow.
In the afternoon I returned to the ballet. During intermission I met up with Ellen and Charlie and we had a brief reunion. It’s been a memorable day.
