This will be a short entry. My laptop isn’t behaving. I visited Split about 20 years ago. It looks much the same, though it won’t for long. Two new huge hotels are being built, as well as a dock that can accommodate more cruise ships. But for now, it remains a beautiful ancient city.
We hired a guide and saw the city from many different perspectives. At one area, I was surprised to see a large, though unmaintained, Jewish cemetery.
Lunch was at a super local restaurant. We ordered the fish platter for two, which could easily have fed three or four. Super fresh, it was the best calamari ever.
Sue took a taxi back to the ship. I opted to walk back. This was mostly to see if my back was really doing better. The promenade was the perfect place to try this. The views were beautiful and there were loads of benches.
I took full advantage of those benches, stopping often to take in the scene and rest my back. And, SUCCESS, I walked the mile to the ship.
