In a few weeks I’ll be back in one of my favorite countries, Mexico. First stop: Mexico City. Then it’s off to a spa in the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains.
With only three days in the city, I’m already deciding how to spend every precious hour. One stop isn’t negotiable: the Museum of Popular Art. Last year I could barely tear myself away.
Every gallery is packed with folk art from across Mexico. The craftsmanship is extraordinary, the creativity boundless, and the art is irresistible. I took more than 150 photographs during a single visit, and that was only because I reined myself in.
I’m looking forward to seeing what new wonders Mexico’s artisans have created since my last visit.
(Some of my favorites from last year — difficult to pick just a few.)
